City police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested around 53 alleged criminals in different targeted raids and encounters conducted at various parts of metropolis on Tuesday. Police said that 79 raids and four encounters were conducted as a part of Karachi operation and arrested 71 criminals who were allegedly involved in various criminal activities.
During the operations police arrested 14 criminals under Arms Act. Ten were arrested under Narcotics Act, 12 absconders, four dacoits, two extortionists, and 11 others involved in criminal activities were also arrested. Police further said that they have recovered 23 hand guns, five bottles of liquor and 765 grams Hashish from the possession of the criminals.
