The General Secretary of the Sindh chapter of Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q), Haleem Adil Sheikh has accused political parties for trying to save the government rather than democratic system. Speaking at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Tuesday, he held the PML-N government responsible for the Model Town incident and declared that it was steep violation of Article 6 & 9 of the Constitution and failure of the government to safeguard the lives of citizens.
He pointed finger at different political parties for espousing individual interest than defending the democratic system. He remarked that ruling parties never hold rallies and demonstrated grave concerns over PML-N rallies, which he feared trigger a 'civil war'. "The demands of the crowd in Islamabad should be paid attention rather thinking about their number. After spending 12 days, the crowd is still determined to march and stand," he said.
While holding a copy of Constitution, he stressed that the struggle for reforms was constitutional and democratic and according to Article 15 & 16, citizens were free to move within the perimeters of the country and were allowed to gather anywhere.
