Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Patron-In-Chief, Pakistan Peoples Party has strongly condemned the brutal assassination of Irshad Mastoi, General Secretary of Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) and Bureau Chief of NNI News Agency in Quetta along with two other colleagues.
In a press statement issued here on Friday, he urged upon the authorities to order an independent probe into the murder of an active journalist of Balochistan to ascertain facts and ensure that the killers, whosoever they are, should not go scot-free. He said growing incidents of attacks and killings on journalists in Balochistan was a very bad omen which pained and grieved every patriotic Pakistani.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stressed upon Balochistan government to ensure protection to every journalist in the province and provide adequate compensation to the victim's family besides guaranteeing that independent journalists do not become an endangered species due to growing violence in the province.
