Senator Aitezaz Ahsan has said Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri should bring revolution against the leaders standing around them. Talking to a private TV channel, he said both Imran and Qadri should have a reality check that railways and airports got standstill and students were active on streets when revolution took place.
When the TV host told him that Hafeez Peerzada had reached Islamabad and a legal draft was underway, Ahsan said "Hafeez is not as dangerous as Sharif Peerzada is therefore one should not worry about this rumour." He said no one could force Nawaz Sharif to resign if he was not ready to do so.
He said the parliament was backing him, army chief could not force him to resign and there was no chance of repetition of Kakar formula. Further, he said, the Supreme Court had clearly stated its mind in 31 July 2009 verdict. He said "actual problem is of those staging sit-ins at the Red Zone. They are desperate and digging up graveyards and putting on coffins. It seems that they are losing stamina."
He also criticised electronic media for creating hype of the issue by airing live speeches over last 17 days during prime time, calling the people to join them. He said the Prime Minister should not have asked the army to facilitate the government over the issue, and advised the government to avoid use of force.
