The city of Hyderabad on Sunday remained closed on the call of the Muttehida Qaumi Movement to observe a day of mourning against the police action in Islamabad between Saturday and Sunday night. The police took severe action against protesting workers and supporters of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaf, leaving more than 450 injured and three dead.
The workers of the PTI and PAT staged a protest demonstration against the PML-N government and police torture. They demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and others to resign for their involvement in the tragic incidents of Model Town and Red Zone. They also raised slogans against the federal and Punjab governments.
Mustanser Billah, Usman Kennedy, Younis Qadri of the PAT, Allama Imdad Naseemi of Wahdatul Muslimeen, Imran Soharwardy, Shafiq Meo and Sajid Ali Kazmi of Pakistan Sunni Tehrik, and local leaders of Pakistan Sunni Ittehad vowed to continue the struggle until prime minister and his corrupt cabinet were removed.
They said the PML government had proved itself more cruel and barbaric than Israel.
They said the police on behest of Sharif brothers were killing innocent people including women and children through direct shelling and firing.
They said that Sharif brothers had set up their family kingdom which would be ended with support of the people.
