Former army chief General Aslam Beg (retired) has said that the drama of Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri was over and there was little danger to democracy in the country. In an interview, the former army chief said the army was not behind the sit-ins of Imran Khan and Qadri and no body had assured them support of the army.
He said when the two leaders met the army chief, they were disappointed. He said after that meeting, Imran and Qadri tried to invade parliament and the Prime Minister House to save their politics. He said after the failed attempt of raiding the state symbols, a situation of chaos and violence has emerged.
He said people were tired of dramatic speeches of two leaders and soon Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would get out of Imran Khan's control and he himself destroyed his political future. Similarly, he said, the next destination of Tahirul Qadri was Canada.
In reply to a question, the former army chief said that their game was over, there was least possibility of army intervention but the aims and objectives of Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri look very dangerous.
