Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government on Thursday enforced rain emergency across the province. Responding to updated weather reports and forecast of heavy rainfall in Karachi and other parts of the province the Minister in an urgent meeting announced immediate cancellation of leave granted to the staffers and officers of the local government department and municipalities.
Sharjeel Memon on the occasion also directed the concerned officials to see that all garbage dumps are immediately removed and adequately disposed off while rain drains and nullah are also cleaned. He said stringent action would be taken against concerned officers failing to maintain drains and nullah in running order or unable to ensure that garbage of all categories are duly removed on daily basis.
