UAF 'indigenous on-campus training' concludes

Indigenous on-campus Training under Modern University Governance Programme arranged by the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC) on Friday concluded. The training is arranged by Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (ORIC), UAF on the direction of HEC.
On the occasion, UAF Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said quality education and skilled manpower are inevitable for the development and prosperity of the country. He said the UAF is making all possible steps to produce skilled manpower and tangible researches. He told the participants that the UAF developed Vision 2030 to face the challenges with three cornerstone including teaching, research and outreach. He also lauded the HEC's efforts for the training meant to polish the skills of the non-teaching staff, helping them enhance their working.
ORIC Director Professor Dr Rao Asif Ali said capacity building of the staff is essential to flourish the institution. He stressed upon the need of developing innovative approach in order to make development in every sphere of life. Treasurer Umer Saeed said the varsity is taking all tangible steps to provide the state-of-the-art facilities to the students. He said the varsity is enhancing its own resources. The UAF research funding has exceeded Rs 2 billion.
Director Procurement Rana M Khalid said the training held for the non-teaching staff will equip them with modern administrative knowledge. He talked about inventory documentation and control. Director Planning and Development Irfan Abbas said proper planning is essential to run any project. He stressed upon the participants to hone their skills so that future challenges can be met effectively.
Dr Abdul Rashid, Ex-Member PARB told the participants about the effective tools of monitoring and evaluation. He said the country is blessed with numerous talents that must be explored. Deputy Treasurer Ashraf Mumtaz enlightened the participants about fee collection. He said modern knowledge is must to bring easiness in our working and to face up to the emerging challenges.
IT Director Farjeel Javed said adoption of Information Technology is prerequisite in the modern world. He said ICT helped the people deal with matters of financial management effectively. Account Officer Faisal Shehzad said the world has become the global village, thanks to IT and the modern IT tools make the financial management easier. Lecturer Iqra Shgufta said effective communications is ladder of success in life. Lecturer Ayesha Asghar talked about the counselling and ways to control the temper.
