City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi under a traffic awareness campaign educating drivers that mirrors and indicators must be used while changing lanes on the roads. According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi, Shoaib Khurram Janbaz, the motorists, under the campaign, are being given tips about lane discipline, use of indicators and the advantages of keeping to the correct lanes.
Awareness banners were displayed at all important intersections while pamphlets are also being distributed among the roads users.
The motorists should follow traffic rules and use mirrors and indicators while changing lanes, he said adding, the campaign has been started to acquaint people with traffic laws while inculcating better traffic sense among them. He said CTP is making efforts to maintain traffic discipline in the city and involving the community in eliminating traffic violations. Drivers who make sudden lane changes without using indicators risk their lives through their own ignorance and carelessness, he added.
