KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that PTI-led coalition government has transformed the Local Government Act (LGA) into the aspirations of the people and now the LG polls schedule of the Election Commission is awaited in light of the instructions of the judiciary. However he said that his provincial government has also transferred all the powers to the concerned departments and institutions instead of centralising and restricting it up-to CM Secretariat like that in the past.
He was talking to various delegations of MPAs and elite at his office CM Secretariat Peshawar who apprised him of the problems and demands of their respective areas. They included MNA Shehryar Afridi, Minister Mineral Development Ziaullah Afridi, MPAs Wajeeh-uz-Zaman, Shaukat Ali Yousufzai, Mian Khleeq-ur-Rehman, Javed Nasim Khan, Arbab Jehandad Khan, Mohammad Ali, Zahid Durrani, Zarin Zia Marwat, Deena Naz Khattak and Nagina Khan.
The chief minister said that all the ministers and departments are now free in decision making and hence endeavouring for service delivery to the masses in a systematic manner. He pointed out that its characteristics of our good governance also included that now corruption and loot is impossible that was rampant in the past but instead, he maintained all attention is focused on improving the performance and best delivery of service to the masses by the departments.
He assured proper resolution of all the public grievances presented by the MPAs. He said that the process of developmental schemes in all sectors is being expedited and hence progress could be then seen in nook and corner of the province. In response to a demand about release of funds for construction of spurs alongside the rivers and protecting precious agricultural lands from the floods, he assured that such mega schemes have been made part of the current ADP.
He revealed that several feet wide concrete protection bunds were being constructed on both sides of the rivers passing from Charsadda and Peshawar up to Nowshera while similar is the case with the rivers in other parts of the province as well. He assured that such concrete embankments would tap our gushing rivers and huge population and crops would be protected from devastation of floods in future for good.
About deficiency of teachers and classrooms in various schools and medical staff in health institutions, Pervez Khattak further assured that all such needs were being catered on crash basis under the educational and health emergencies in the province. He said that the ratio of one teacher for 40 students in every classroom would be ensured while the new policy of the appointment of school based teachers was also being implemented to ensure quality results.
He also directed the divisional and district administrations throughout the province to take notice of every public complaint about performance of departments and institutions at local level and not only timely resolve it on priority basis but also ensure practical participation of the people in developmental process by making consistent liaison with them.
