Activists of Pakistan People's Party from Tehsil Shabqadar, district Charsadda, have quit their party and joined Qaumi Watan Party (QWP). The announcement was made during a press conference, held at press club here on Wednesday, by PPP former general secretary Tehsil Shabqadar and Ex-tehsil nazim Akhtar Gul, who along with all family members, friends, and activists from constituency PK-22 Shabqadar, joined the QWP, and vowed to make joint efforts for rights of Pakhtuns. During the press conference, QWP parliamentary leader and provincial chairman Sikandar Khan Sherpao and the party district activists also present.
Addressing on the occasion, Akhtar Gul said that the QWP is only political force, which has raised voice for rights of Pakhtuns, under leadership of its chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao. He vowed that he would play active role for strengthening and accomplishment of the party mission, as an ordinary worker. Sikandar Sherpao, while speaking the media persons, welcomed the joining of PPP workers in QWP, and reiterated that the party will give them due respect and position.
Criticising the PTI-led provincial government, he said the despite tall claims of regarding the establishing a role model government, pursuing of merit policy, steps for welfare of masses and development, the incumbent KP government had completely failed to deliver at all fronts. We didn't see any significant change and development during PTI-led government in KP, says Junior Sherpao.
Referring a survey report regarding the performance of the KP government, he said that no progress was shown in all sectors, basically in disaster and management, education, health and good governance etc. "How can the KP government gain sectoral achievement, when its rulers are busied in so-called 'sit-ins' for the last three weeks, he questioned. They (rulers) don't have concerned with the miseries of the people, particularly those fled from tribal region, he maintained. He urged the federal government, and both protesting parties, to end their confrontation and resolve issue with mutual consensus and negotiation, while keeping in view miseries of people in KP, Fata and Punjab.
QWP provincial chairman lamented that there was no respect to the public mandate, which given to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf in last general elections to rule in the province. He said that PTI has failed to come-up with the expectations of the masses, which voted to power there, and now it was using deceptive tactics to runaway from the province. Even, he said the disagreements have been seen between PTI MPA's and the party over the policy matter.
