Punjab Minister for Agriculture Dr Farrukh Javed said that a survey will be launched soon after receding of floodwater to compile a report of losses to crops or buildings and human life. The government will try to support to the affected by floodwater to the maximum so that they can stand on their feet again. He also said no negligence in distribution of ration amongst the flood affected would be tolerated.
Farrukh Javed said this while talking to journalists during visit to relief camps set up in flood-affected areas of Zafarwal and Baddo Malhi here on Wednesday. The Minister also visited a village submerged in floodwater and enquired about the hardships being faced by the affected ones. He directed the administration to pace up the relief operation. He said the Chief Minister would again visit Baddo Malhi to monitor the relief operation.
The Minister also attended a briefing by the district administration of Narowal and enquired about the relief goods available for relief operation. The Minister was informed that 1,300 packets of ration, 3,000 water bottles and 50 tents have been received from the DCO Narowal and being distributed amongst the affected villagers without any discrimination.
