On the instruction of Punjab Chief Minister, fourth year MBBS students will be sent in the form of groups to flood-hit areas to help medical teams in the provision of treatment facilities to the flood affectees. This was stated by Advisor to CM on Health Kh Salman Rafique while presiding over a meeting of principals of medical colleges of Lahore.
Principal Postgraduate Medical Institute Professor Dr Anjum Habib Vohra, Principal Services Institute of Medical Sciences Professor Dr Hamid Butt, Professor Dr Manzoor of Fatima Jinnah Medical College, Administrator Shaikh Zayed Hospital Dr Akbar Husain and Medical Superintendent Jinnah Hospital Dr Abdul Rauf attended the meeting.
Additional Secretary Health (Development) Ghulam Farid and Chief Planning Officer Abdul Haq were also present. Rafique directed the principals to register students of their colleges as volunteers. He said that these students will be sent to the flood affected areas to help medical teams in providing treatment to maximum number of patients.
