Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan Thursday further tightened the noose around the government, saying two MNAs along with a top police officer were behind the gruesome murder of MNA Tahira Asif and Hendry Masih, a minority MPA from Balochistan. In a series of shocking revelations involving the ruling government, he said Tahira Asif, a Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MNA from Lahore and Hendry Masih, an MPA from Balochistan were killed for resisting demolition of Christians huts built on Pakistan Railways lands.
Without giving further details about the trio - two MNAs and a top police officers - for their alleged involvement in murder of Tahira Asif and Hendry Masih, Imran said he would disclose their names on Saturday. He said that the duo were against demolition of evacuation of poor Christians taking shelter on Pakistan Railways land but the two influential MNAs resorted to killing of Tahira and Hindry to occupy the land without any resistance and use the expensive land for their benefits.
Imran, who have been camping outside the parliament house along with thousands of his supporters for the last 29 days, seeking ouster of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, also declared that whatever course the talks with the government take, he will not leave without the premier's resignation. "Oh listen Nawaz Sharif don't ever think that I will leave as it the sit-in entered twenty-nine day today and I am ready to spend 29 more days here in this container if you did not leave. I will leave the protest venue with your resignation in hand," he maintained.
He said that though there is agreement on all other points, PTI will not call off the sit-in until Nawaz Sharif calls it a day. He said that he has become used to sleep in the shipping container, saying it will be really tough for him to spend the evenings if the sit-ins were called off. He accused the government of hand-picking a blue-eyed ambassador in Qatar to get its choice commission from LPG deal, which is in the offing.
Imran said that he received thousands of text messages, telephone calls from both within and outside Pakistan not to leave sit-in venue without prime minister's resignations. "The masters thieves as this what I can say for those who plundered the national wealth, pocketed the taxpayers' money, handpicked their incompetent children for important slots, ignored the merit and promoted nepotism and what not, this is the reason we've been at verge of complete collapse," he lamented.
He said that he had personal grudge against Nawaz Sharif. "I'm fighting against Nawaz Sharif mentality which is ruling this country and due to absence of merit, the country is going down with each passing day while a handful of corrupt is becoming prosperous," he added. He severely criticised the justice system in the country, saying the poor has not option but commit a suicide as here the might is right. Referring to Model Town tragedy, he said FIRs were not registered despite killing of 14 innocent people who was telecasted live on televisions.
He came down hard on the government for shedding crocodile tears over the recent loss of lives due to floods, saying if Shahbaz Sharif had worked on Justice Manzoor Commission's report on floods, he would not have to stand in water wearing long shoes and having photo sessions. He also said that meteorological department had predicted on August 08, 2014 that floods are expected in parts of Punjab but the government took it lightly that resulted in huge loss of life and property, leaving scores homeless.
Imran said that Nawaz Sharif is reluctant to go on leave for on month because he had done massive rigging and any impartial probe into rigging would send him packing. "The South Korean prime minister quit after a ship was sunk in which 300 passengers lost their lives but Shrhbaz Sharif is still there despite killing of 14 people, while about 100s were injured," he regretted.
He claimed that out of total 84,000 votes in NA-256 (Karachi), only 6,000 votes were genuine, adding in NA-124 (Lahore) from where Bushra Aitzaz of PPP contested, 264 bags were verified, of which only 106 bags were sealed while the seals of 127 were broken with huge tempering with the results.
"Therefore, we want to get these elections examined again and we will not leave until Nawaz Sharif s resignation," he maintained. As the nation celebrated the 67th death anniversary of Quiad-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on Thursday, Imran said Quiad-e-Azam wanted to build a modern democracy where institutions could function properly. "If ever I become the prime minister of Pakistan, I will allow you to protest. I will not fire bullets on you like Nawaz Sharif," he said referring to recent teargas shelling on PTI protesters by police.
