Unveiling the modus operandi and objectives of the revolution march, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri Tuesday said that more provinces would be created while judicial, economic and social powers would be devolved to the grass roots level to ensure basic rights to masses at their door steps. Addressing the participants of the sit-in Qadri gave a new deadline to the government saying that days of the so-called government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif are numbered and repeated his resolve not to leave Islamabad, before ousting the current rulers.
The Inqilab march has taken the shape of a movement of national awakening and no power on earth could stop it from success, Qadri maintained. Earlier, Qadri showed documents and said that out of 13 banks in Switzerland, two of them contain over Rs 10 billion that belongs to Pakistani leaders. "I have record of only two banks and could not disclose their names on the basis of international confidentiality policy, while do not have records of other 11 banks," he added. This is the public money that has been plundered and stashed in Swiss banks, said Qadri adding that rulers have joined hands only to protect each others corruption and have nothing to do with democracy.
PAT chief said that millions of people across the country have awakened now and shouting 'go Nawaz go'. "Soon this 'go Nawaz go' will be heard inside the parliament, while a time will come that the PM Nawaz Sharif and Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif will also be chanting the same", Qadri added. Qadri directed his supporters and protesters to chant 'go Nawaz go' slogan when irked by mosquitoes, flies and excessive utility bills.
Quoting an incident where Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Captain allegedly refused to give seat to the servant of the Sharif family in business class instead of economy class, Qadri said that revolution march gave courage to the nation and the people are standing up for their rights, adding, they have gathered courage to follow the path of truth & stand up against oppressors.
Qadri presented the model of decentralisation and devolution of powers at grass roots level, to provide basic rights to the people. "Our system of participatory democracy will make people stakeholders in power," said Qadri, adding that representative of each and every class would have the right to be part of the assemblies.
He said that more and more provinces, about 150 district governments, 800 tehsils, 400-500 each rural and urban towns while more than 8,000 councils would be established. He further said that several governments would be created in each tehsils where after 2 years elections would be held. He further said that judicial system would also be devolved where Supreme Court bench would be extended to division level, High Court bench to each district level while tehsil magistrate would be devolved to the union council level. In this way the people would get their economic, social and judicial rights at their door steps.
Qadri elaborated bit-by-bit details to the participants that how the local governments will be formed in rural and urban areas to resolve the issues of the people in their own villages and towns. He said that the natives will be having magistrates, doctors and other officials in their own areas and they will not have to travel to distant places for their basic rights.
He said that Prime Minister Sharif met his own political workers in a flood-hit area and returned to Islamabad. "Parliament has become deaf and dumb. It can not listen to the sufferings of masses," he said. He said that rulers have become richer while poor have become poorer.
Earlier, under the banner of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Children Wing arranged "Inqilab March Children Rally" spearheaded by schools teachers. Children were lifting a replica of Parliament on their young shoulders, as it is no more in this world and took it from the container of Tahirul Qadri to the Supreme Court building. It was inscribed with the slogan "the time has come to burry deaf and dumb parliament".
