Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with a large Jirga delegation from North Waziristan Agency led by JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman at the PM's House here on Tuesday. Talking to the Jirga members, the Prime Minister said the government was trying it's best to ensure early repatriation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan to their homes so that they could start their lives afresh in an atmosphere of peace and stability.
He said the brave people of tribal areas, especially those belonging to North Waziristan, have given great sacrifices for the long-term peace in Pakistan for which the entire Pakistani nation was proud of them. The Prime Minister said that North Waziristan would soon be cleared and expressed the confidence that permanent peace would be restored in the area.
Earlier, Maulana Fazlur Rahman apprised the Prime Minister of the difficulties being faced by the displaced people and regretted that the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was oblivious to these problems. On the occasion tribal elders expressed their views and gave their recommendations to the PM in this regard.
