A sub-inspector (SI) of Punjab Police quit his job on Tuesday and announced to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf with the objective to help Imran Khan in his struggle of making 'New Pakistan'. SI Yasir Javed, a resident of Faisalabad, arrived at the PTI protest sit-in venue in police uniform and announced his resignation from police, joining the PTI.
Talking to Business Recorder at D-Chowk, near PTI chief Imran Khan's container, Yasir said he has resigned from his job as he was fed up of witnessing 'police brutalities', especially in case of PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) supporters. Following directives of police high-ups, a number of PTI workers have been arrested and tortured during last 32 days, he said.
The SI said that he took the decision after thinking many a times and also discussed my ambition with friends and colleagues. "He served the police department for 14 years, but he has never seen such kind of brutalities during his whole career", he claimed. Yasir said he sent his resignation to the District Police Officer (DPO) of Faisalabad and also informed other high-ups in the department. When asked how he will serve his family after resignation, he said that he has decided to start some business in his native town. He said that he never met with PTI chief Imran Khan.
