Rabia Faridi, a student of University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) will deliver speech at the UN General Assembly session next week. She will also receive "2014 Youth Courage Award" at the event. It is second time in the history of the country that Pakistani student will attend the UNGA session. To honour her, a meeting of UAF was held on Saturday at syndicate room chaired by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan.
Rabia Faridi while talking to the meeting said that she was privileged to present positive image of country at UN forum. She said that the education is the key to become developed nation and to deal with different challenges at individual, community, national and international level. She said that the land of our county especially rural site is much fertile with talented people.
Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that the UAF is taking all possible steps to provide the state-of-the-art facilities to the students to polish their skills. He said the UAF women complex centre providing modern facilities to the women students. He said there is the need to make rural development in order to control the increasing urbanisation. Rabia is also a global youth ambassador of education by UN. She is a student of MSc Hons (Plant Breeding and Genetics), UAF and member of Debating Club, Office of the Senior Tutor, UAF. A couple of months ago, Rabia Faridi had presented speech on Women Education at Convention Centre, Islamabad where UN Special Envoy for Global Education and former Britain Prime Minster Gordon Brown was the chief guest. Her speech was highly appreciated and admired by the participants.
