Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has exposed the PML-N government corruption and wrongdoings. Addressing the PTI's sit-in on late Sunday night, Imran said: "Governor Punjab says that ministers are involved in corruption and the PML-N has miserably failed to address the public grievances."
He urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to go on one month leave to allow fair investigation into the elections rigging.
The PTI chief said that the government had spent Rs80,000 per minute on the joint session of the Parliament, which failed to address even a single public issue. "What did the people of Pakistan get from the joint session of the Parliament," he questioned, adding that joint session revealed the true face of the parliamentarians.
"Nawaz Sharif gave a message to all the parliamentarians through joint session that their politics will be buried forever if Imran Khan succeeds," he added.
PTI chief said that all political parties were saying that the elections were rigged, but they failed to demand Nawaz resignation. "This match is neither being played on any script nor we want to come into power through backdoor channel," he said.
On the other hand, while addressing his followers, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri barred his followers from leaving the sit-in venue, saying that he would make an announcement about wrapping up the sit-in on Monday (today).
Qadri said that the revolution has entered in its decisive phase and an important decision about ending the sit-in will be made on Monday. "Corrupt rulers and poor governance are adversely damaging the country. The corrupt system is near to collapse and people will soon witness dawn of the revolution," Qadri added.
He termed the incumbent Parliament as the 'graveyard' of democracy, adding that participants of 'Inqilab March' have gathered to teach the lesson of democracy and humanity to the incumbent corrupt and inept rulers. While congratulating the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan for a successful public gathering in Karachi, Qadri said that the nation is now awaken and people want to get rid of the corrupt and inept ruling class.
Qadri said that the government was still engaged in arresting PAT workers across the country.
In democratic system, a politician has to tender resignation if corruption or other such charge proved against him/her, he added. "Unfortunately our politicians are not ready to leave the power corridor doors, which show flaws in our democratic system," he added. He vehemently criticised the ruling class, saying that they have nothing to do with the masses problems, but there are only interested in minting money.
"Pakistan being an agriculture country is importing wheat, which is quite unfortunate, as there is no viable agriculture policy evolved by any government to improve agriculture system," Qadri lamented.
