Federal Government has so far released Rs 47.87 billion under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for various development projects against total allocation of Rs 525 billion for the fiscal year 2014-15. According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms, Rs 9.02 billion has been released for various projects of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission out of its total allocations of Rs 51.48 billion earmarked under PSDP for FY 2014-15.
The government released 7.48 billion for Railways Division for which 39.57 billion rupees have been earmarked in the PSDP for 2014-15. According to the data, the government released Rs 581.371 million for Interior Division for which Rs 390 billion have been earmarked in the budget of current year while Rs 5.5 billion has been released for National Health Services, Regulations and Co-ordination Division out of its total allocation of Rs 27 billion.
A sum of Rs 18 million has been released for Planning, Development and Reform Division out of Rs 32.8 billion total allocation for the year. An amount of Rs 1.1 billion has been released for Cabinet Division, out of its total allocations of Rs 2.1 billion whereas Rs 18.226 million has been released for Communications Division out of Rs 191 million allocation for the year.
A sum of Rs 72.6 million has been released for Commerce Division, out of its total allocation of Rs 363 million whereas out of the total allocation of Rs 11 billion for Finance Division, the government has so far released Rs 658 million. The government has released Rs 5.83 billion for National Highway Authority against the total allocation Rs 112 billion including Rs 35 billion foreign aid for current fiscal year while Rs 6.49 billion has been released for Water and Power Division against total allocation of Rs 43.4 billion.
The government has also released Rs 500 million for Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (Erra), out of its total annual allocation of Rs 5000 million. The government released Rs 2.1 billion for AJK development projects out of its annual allocation of Rs 12.13 billion and Rs 3.42 billion for SAFRON/FATA out of its total annual allocation of Rs 19 billion.
The government has not yet released any amount so far for development projects of Gilgit-Balistan while a total of Rs 9.23 billion has been allocated for current fiscal year. Planning Commission of Pakistan has been following a proper mechanism for the release of funds and accordingly funds are released as per given mechanism. The Commission releases 20 percent of funds in first quarter (July-September), 20 percent in second quarter (October-December), 30 percent third quarter (January-March) and 30 percent in fourth quarter (April-June).
