Usman Jawed was elected uncontested Chairman of Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PHMA) North Zone here during Annual Election of the Association. Similarly Rana Altaf Ahmad and Rafi Soni were elected Sr Vice Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively for the year 2014-2015. The Annual General Meeting of the PHMA was held in a local hotel with maximum participation from Lahore and Sialkot in addition to Faisalabad.
According to a source of the PHMA, earlier Qamar Aftab of M/s. Image Garments Private Ltd Faisalabad, Abdul Hameed of M/s. Creative Apparels Private Ltd Lahore, Chaudhry Hameed Alam of M/s. Hameed Printing Mills Lahore, Muhammad Rafi Soni of M/s. Soni Trading Corporation Sialkot, Chaudhry Ghulam Sarwar Cheema of M/s. QNB Sports Industries Sialkot, Muhammad Saleem of M/s. Saleem Hosiery Faisalabad were also declared successful for zonal executive committee.
Meanwhile, for the Central Executive Committee Farrukh Iqbal of M/s. Cosy International Private Ltd Faisalabad, Qaiser Mehmood of M/s. Noorani Hosiery Faisalabad, Malik Muhammad Fareed of M/s. Olympic Socks & Textile Private Ltd Rawalpindi, Azhar Saeed Butt of M/s. Johar Knitwear Lahore, Muhammad Waqar of M/s. W. Brothers Gujranwala have also been elected uncontested.
The newly elected office bearers have expressed concern over continuous energy crisis in the country and demanded gas and electricity supply particularly to the value-added textile sector on top priority basis so that it could earn precious foreign exchange for the country in addition to creating jobs for the unemployed youth.
