As announced in the Annual General Meeting of Southern Zone, Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PHMA) held on Saturday, September 20, at PHMA House, Karachi, the Zonal Committee unanimously elected Muhammad Babar Khan, Chairman; Zakir Dadabhoy, Senior Vice-Chairman and Altaf Hussain, Vice-Chairman, PHMA Southern Zone for the period 2014-2015.
Promising to sincerely and dedicatedly serve the association and the knitwear and hosiery industry in promptly resolving the issues and problems, Muhammad Babar Khan, Chairman (Elect), said, he was grateful to Jawed Bilwani, Leader of the Export Development Group and all Group members who had the confidence in him and chose him as Chairman. He said that while the previous team headed by Chairman Irfan Z Bawany had done commendable work and with the best efforts of our leader and entire team, PHMA had become the leading and most prominent Association.
Earlier Jawed Bilwani, Chief Co-ordinator congratulated all PHMA members and all the unopposed office-bearers and committee members for PHMA's 53rd Annual General Meeting. He said that still there were great challenges and he would endeavour his best to work and support this new team and specially thanked Junaid Makda, Deputy Chief Co-ordinator, office-bearers and all EDG members for their support to him throughout the year in the efforts to pursue with the government on the basis of public private partnership to enable the hosiery and knitwear sector to play a vital role in strengthening the economy, he special thanks to the members of the press and electronic media who constantly highlighted the issues and problems faced by the value added textile sector most effectively.
Outgoing Chairman Irfan Z Bawany thanked all the office-bearers, committee members and members of the Export Development Group for all their co-operation during his tenure as Chairman.-PR
