The Anti Narcotics Force on Tuesday seized drugs including 41 Kgs of Heroin, 14 Kgs of Charas, 8 Kgs of Opium, rounded up 13 drug smugglers and confiscated 4 vehicles in 8 operations. Colonel Habib of ANF media cell said that operations were conducted against drug mafia at Islamabad, Attock, Sargodha, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Gilgit and Karachi. Most of the recovered drugs were being transported for local consumption.
The price of the recovered drugs is approximately Rs 300.26 million in international market. According to details ANF Lahore Road Check Team, on search of a suspected Suzuki Swift Car No BQ-229 (ICT) near main Motorway Toll Plaza, Faisalabad, recovered 20 Kgs of heroin. Heroin was concealed in secret cavities of the car.
Two drug carriers namely Naseer Ahmed and Ishtiaq Ahmed, both residents of Peshawar were taken into custody and car confiscated. According to information, they were coming from Peshawar and on their way to Faisalabad City for delivery of drugs. ANF Lahore Road Check Team seized a Swift Car No VX-232 (ICT) near Salam Interchange, Sargodha and recovered 8 Kgs of Heroin from the car. Two drug carriers namely Fazal-e-Khuda r/o Charsada and Tanvir Ahmed r/o Peshawar were arrested. They were coming from Peshawar and on their way to Sargodha for delivery of drugs. As per reports, their source of supply is based at Karkhano Market, Peshawar.
ANF Peshawar Road Check Team intercepted a Suzuki Mehran Car No RNQ-1313 near Joint Check Post, Indus Highway Kohat and recovered 9 Kgs of Charas and 8 Kg of Opium. The drug was concealed in petrol tank of the car. 3 drug smugglers namely Khair-ul-Bashar r/o Peshawar, Abid Hussain and Kamran Hashmi, both residents of Rahim Yar Khan were taken into custody. As per initial reports, they were transporting drugs to Rahim Yar Khan for local use.
ANF Peshawar detained a local drug supplier namely Dilawar Khan s/o To Gul r/o Peshawar and recovered 1.85 Kgs of Heroin from his possession. He was arrested near ZTBL, Chughal Pura G.T Road, Peshawar while coming back after receiving drugs from a main supplier. Charas was contained in a shopping bag. After initial investigations, a main supplier, an Afghan National namely Naseer Ahmed was also taken into custody from the area of Kacha Garhi, Jamrud Road, Peshawar. His arrest resulted in recovery of 6.75 Kgs of Heroin from his personal possession.
ANF Rawalpindi on search of a suspected Suzuki Mehran Car (Taxi) No BRS-490 near Burhan Motorway Interchange, District Attock, recovered 4 Kgs of Charas from the car. A drug carrier Tahir Mehmood r/o Islamabad was also apprehended at the spot. As per reports, he was coming from Peshawar and was on his way to Islamabad for delivery of drugs. After initial investigations, ANF has also arrested a local drug supplier namely Muhammad Asif r/o Rawalpindi near Khana Pull, Islamabad.
ANF Rawalpindi in an operation conducted at main bazaar, Sust City, Gilgit, apprehended a local drug supplier accused Hassan Khan s/o Aitbar Khan and recovered 1.06 Kg of Charas from his possession. According to information, the accused is resident of Bajore Agency and was running a Scrap Shop at main bazaar, Sust City. ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team at Benazir International Airport, Islamabad, detained a Birmingham bound Muhammad Ismail s/o Muhammad Sikandar and recovered 4 Kgs of Heroin concealed in his trolley bag.
ANF Karachi seized a parcel from DHL Courier Service Office, DHA, Phase-II, Karachi and recovered 250 Grams of Heroin concealed in lady's purse. The parcel was intended for UK and was to be received by a person namely Imran Hussain at 2-King Court Milton, Keynes, UK. All cases have been registered at ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under progress.
