A Chinese delegation headed by Du Yonggang, Vice Minister of United Works Department and Party Group Secretary of Federation of Industry and Businesses Yentai city (China), visited the Bank of Punjab (BoP)'s head office here on Tuesday. The purpose of visit of the delegation, comprising leading businessmen / industrialists, was to explore the possibility of financing and the financial services for the Chinese investors in Pakistan.
BoP President Naeemuddin Khan welcomed the delegation. After a brief address, a presentation was given on the Bank of Punjab's structure, its working network, products and services, import/export businesses from China handled by the bank and recent transactions involving Chinese investments in Pakistan.
On the occasion, Du Yonggang said a bank plays a vital role in financing businesses and projects, and the delegation came here to see the support that the banks can provide in Pakistan. He highlighted that more than 20 companies from Yentai have invested in Punjab. He also said the Yentai Federation of Commerce and Industry was established on solid footing and it can provide support to the banks in Pakistan.
He also pondered over the idea of improving economic development in Punjab. He hoped to receive support from BoP in exploring financial facilities for the Chinese investors. He also invited BoP to open its Branch in Yentai, which is one of the modern cities of China. BOP President Naeemuddin Khan assured his full support and availability at any time to respond to the queries of the Chinese investors in Pakistan. He hoped that BoP will be the main bank of Yentai Federation of Commerce and Industry.
