At least nine suspected terrorists, belonging to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), were arrested during a raid carried out by the security forces in Islamabad on Friday. On receiving a tip-off about the presence of 14 terrorists in Sector G-10, the security forces carried out a raid in a mosque and arrested nine terrorists.
The arrested TTP terrorists were said to be hailing from Swat and Bajaur. The terrorists had planned to target senior military officers and important installations. The arrested terrorists have been transferred to an undisclosed place for interrogation. Sources said these terrorists were impersonating as push cart vendors and monitoring the movement of the high military officials. They were also monitoring different sensitive installations.
