Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said Saturday said that Pakistan will become an economic power in five years if we eliminate corruption from our society. He also said that democracy can only be strengthened if we provide justice to the people.
He was addressing the wish granting ceremony organised by Make A Wish (MAW) Foundation Pakistan at Governor House Lahore. Founding President MAW Foundation Mirza Ishtiaq Baig, leading businessman of the country Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, prominent singer Waris Baig, famous television artist Fiza Ali, leading businessmen and children were present on the occasion.
He also said that we have to strengthen our institutions if we want to strengthen democracy adding that democracy can only be strengthened through good governance. Chaudhry Sarwar who is also the board member of MAW Foundation said that he want to extend the network of this organisation in all the districts of Punjab. He also appreciated the role of Ishtiaq Baig who worked day and night to fulfil the wishes of children who were seriously ill.
Speaking on this occasion Founding President of the MAW Foundation Pakistan Ishtiaq Baig said that the main objective of the MAW Pakistan is to enter into the terminally child's life and bring magic and joy to them. "We know we cannot add days to their life but we certainly can add life to their days," Baig said He also said that it's an affiliate member country of MAWFI and dedicated to granting the most cherished wishes of the terminally ill children in Pakistan.
While sharing his views Mirza Ikhtiar Baig said that how Ishtiaq Baig through his untiring efforts convinced the higher officials of MAW Foundation to grant affiliation to Pakistan. "It took three years and many trips to USA to motivate them and at the end Ishtiaq was successful. MAW Pakistan became the affiliate country". Ikhtiar said. He also said that that organisation relies on the generosity of individuals, organisations and corporations to fund our mission. We also request individual person to adopt the wishes of the children posted on our website.
