SSGC asks industrial, captive power customers to strictly follow Sunday closure
Sui Southern Gas Company has urged its industrial and captive power customers to strictly follow the scheduled Sunday closure as it was not receiving any gas supply into its system due to the ongoing Annual-Turn-Around (ATA) of three gas fields in Sindh.
An SSGC official on Saturday said the scheduled ATA (maintenance work) at Kunnar-Pasakhi, Bobi and Adam fields has resulted in a total shortfall of 145 mmcfd to SSGC's system.
The ATA in these fields were said to had started a couple of days ago and is expected to be completed by the first of October 2014.
Consequent to the critical situation SSGC is faced with a major supply shortfall and therefore all industrial and captive power customers in Sindh are requested to strictly follow SSGC's scheduled closure directive of keeping their units closed on Sunday. The official said that the SSGC's surveillance teams will monitor compliance and are also fully authorised to disconnect supply for 48 hours of any unit violating the said instruction. SSGC appreciative of the co-operation of the industrial and captive power sector customers hoped that strict compliance will enable steady pressure when the supply is soon restored from these fields.-PR
