Musk informed in his email that the employee’s complete extent of actions is not yet clear, but he mentioned his motivation to perform the act because he wanted a promotion he did not receive. Musk said ‘in light of these actions, not promoting him was definitely the right move’.

Musk also wrote that the investigation will continue in depth until the entire situation is known, cautioning that their might me more employees included in the act. He also informed his employees that there are a lot of companies wanting Tesla to die, mentioning Wall Street short-sellers, oil and gas companies and rival car makers as being among them, as per BBC.

The sabotage comes in as Tesla attempts to boost its Model 3 production to 5,000 per week by July. However, Musk asked the employees to be watchful about the car’s manufacturing as ‘this is when outside forces have the strongest motivation to stop us’.

He asked his employees to report with as much information as possible if they see or suspect anything suspicious, and it will remain anonymous if they wish.

Also, in a separate email Musk informed employees about a small fire at the Tesla factory occurred on Sunday, which was immediately extinguished without causing any injuries or significant damage, however, the cause was not known.

Tesla, however, refused to comment about the email.
