ICE Canadian canola futures edged higher on Monday, supported by cooler, wet weather expected this week that would delay the Western Canada harvest. Environment Canada was forecasting rain around mid-week in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Farmers likely made good harvest progress on the weekend in Alberta and Saskatchewan, but remained behind schedule in Manitoba, an analyst said.
November canola added 60 cents to $395.90 per tonne in thin volume at 8:21 am CDT (1321 GMT). Chicago Board of Trade November soybeans eased 3/4 US cent at US $9.09-1/2 per bushel. Malaysian November palm oil added 0.6 percent. NYSE Liffe Paris November rapeseed shed 0.2 percent. Canadian dollar was trading at $1.1152 or 89.67 US cents, little changed from Friday's close at $1.1155 to the greenback, or 89.65 US cents.
