Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Monday that the government is aware of problems in the system and trying to eliminate them. Speaking to reporters outside his London residence, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said those holding sit-ins were trying to disrupt development in the country. In response to a question over Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan's slogan to change the system, the PM said solving problems in the system was part of his party's agenda.
Asked about whether or not there were designs to involve in a conspiracy to topple his government, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif replied that this would never happen. According to him, even the courts have expressed their thoughts over those holding sit-ins. He stated that parliament has played an important role in the prevailing political crisis. He said the political leadership had shown maturity in the current situation and all the democratic institutions were working as per their mandate. To a question regarding his remarks on the Kashmir issue at the UNGA session, Nawaz said he represented the stance of Pakistan and aspirations of the Pakistani people. He said his government had a commitment to the resolution of this longstanding dispute.
