They said that MIRA will give a broad assessment of damages caused by devastated floods in which 360 persons lost their lives whereas over 646 received injuries.
The MIRA has been completed in collaboration with other partner organisations and the final report is submitted to the Prime Minister's Office for a final line of action of the federal government regarding an early recovery and rehabilitation of the flood-affected people. He said the authority would soon make the report public which indicated billions of losses to agriculture sector.

According to the latest data issued by NDMA, a total of 4,065 villages have been inundated by the floodwater that affected over 2.5 million people and crops on 2.4 million acres of land. The government and other agencies have evacuated 683,687 persons from the flood-hit areas and vaccinated 18.34 million cattle. Flooding killed 282 people in Punjab, 64 in Azad Kashmir and 13 in Gigilt-Baltistan; while 491 persons were injured in Punjab, 129 in Azad Kashmir and 26 in Gigilt-Baltistan. Besides, flooding damaged 56,634 houses; of which 42,817 in Punjab, 8,963 in Azad Kashmir and 4, 854 in Gilgit-Baltistan. A co-ordinated mechanism was jointly formulated by NDMA and UN System in this regard. The assessment was carried out by joint teams comprising officials of UN/NGO/INGOs and government.
