Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on Wednesday announced that soon after Eid-ul-Azha he would be visiting every city of the country to spread the message of 'Revolution March' in every nook and corner of the country to get rid of the incumbent cruel and crocked political system.
PAT chief, while addressing his followers at D-Chowk, said that the strategy to spread the revolution march across the country would be announced in a day or two. "Now we will hold sit-in in every city as well to celebrate the death of this brutal political system," he added. During his speech, PAT workers and farmers from Punjab burnt cotton in protest against what they said anti-agriculture policies of the government.
He said that crimes would be eradicated from country once the revolution takes its roots. He questioned as to why the people should trust the prevailing system, which could not provide them justice. Qadri said that not a signal democratic government allocated proper funds for education and health sectors. "There is dire need of announcing education emergency in the country and 20 percent of total GDP should be spent on the sector," he added.
He said that if PAT came into power; it would allocate 10 percent of GDP for health sector. The present rulers and members of national assembly have never raised their voice for the real public issues, he said. Qadri said that PAT would establish assemblies at small village level to empower masses. The district and Tehsil administration would be authorised to collect tax that would be spent for the betterment of the areas from where it is collected, he said.
He said that the rulers would have no right to interference in police matters along with other departments. "Political mafia is the root cause of growing corruption and injustice in the country," he added. The PAT chief said that in the current political system, rulers embezzle public funds and have no agenda for betterment of the poor segments of the society. The present rulers will never allow the devolution of power at the grass-roots level, he said. Qadri said that revolution would result in a system and society which will hold the oppressors accountable for their tyranny. He said that a country cannot survive where there is no rule of law and justice.
