A joint team of Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) and Rangers on Wednesday killed two alleged kidnappers in a raid conducted in Malir's Tariq Bin Zaid Society. Three policemen also sustained injuries in the raid when the alleged abductors resorted to firing and threw hand grenades on the raiding party, a spokesman for the CPLC said.
He said that a huge ammunition, including two hand grenades, eight Kalashnikovs, walkie-talkie sets, were recovered from the possession of kidnappers killed in the raid. The spokesman said that when a joint team of CPLC, AVCC and Rangers intercepted the alleged abductors in Malir's Tariq Bin Zaid Society, the kidnappers threw hand grenade and resorted to firing, causing serious injuries to three policemen. The injured policemen were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for treatment. However, both the alleged abductors, identified as Abdullah and Shera, were killed in the retaliatory firing, he added. The entire operation was supervised by Sector Commander Brigadier Khalid, SSP Nasir Aftab and CPLC chief Ahmed Chinoy.
