Following the Islamabad sit-ins, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is to hold a 'referendum' against the government in Karachi after Eid ul Azha which would be associated with its 'Go Nawaz Go' campaign. Speaking at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Wednesday, PTI senior member Ashraf Qureshi said that the prime motive of referendum was to evaluate the public opinion regarding the government and to promote public concerns, adding the one-week program would be started on October 10, 2014 from Tariq Road and other renowned places of the city.
He urged the masses to take part in 'referendum' program and file their petition against, what he has termed, the corrupt government and said the results would be announced through a press conference, adding the PTI was promoting public politics and nobody should doubt on results and its credibility. He said the party has a strong mandate in Karachi and the dwellers have always responded positively whenever they were called in.
