Adding a new device to a wireless network can be a problem if the network has functioned so well for so long that you've forgotten where you wrote down the access code. If this happens, it's not necessary to create a new code. Windows 7 and higher can display the plain password. Just click on Start/System Controls/Network and then Internet/Network and then Sharing Center/Change Adapter Settings/Wireless Connection/Wireless Properties until you get to Wireless Network Properties. There you can pick the Security option and activate a tab that will show the code in plain text instead of dots.
