Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will hit store shelves in China on October 17, the Cupertino, California-based-company said Tuesday. iPhone fans will be able to start pre-ordering the coveted gadgets starting October 10.
Users will be able to access the networks from China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom across mainland China with the new phones, Apple said.
The iPhone 6, with a starting price at 5,288 Renminbi (862 dollars) Renminbi, includes a 12- centimetre touch screen.
The iPhone 6 Plus, starting at 6,088 Renminbi (992 dollars), boasts a 14-centimetre screen.
Both phones are much larger than the 10-centimetre display on its predecessor, the iPhone 5s. Both devices also offer improved cameras.
The phones have new software that turn them into a virtual wallet, as the company introduces the mobile payments service Apple Pay, which will let users process credit card and other financial transactions with the device.
