The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani visited the sensitive areas of Peshawar and Charsadda adjacent to the tribal area of Mohmand Agency on Sunday. During his visit the IGP visited the border check posts, Shabqadar bazaar and the house of the lady teacher who was martyred in a grenade attack on a school last Friday.
The IGP KP met with the police personnel deployed on the border check posts including Yakaghund police post, Aranada Police Post, Hajizai Police Post and Naguman Police Post. The IGP KP praised the commitment and bravery of the police personnel deployed on the border check posts and termed them as the true heroes of the province. The police personnel deployed on these posts were given gifts and cash reward by the IGP.
IGP Nasir Khan Durrani also visited the house of the lady teacher who was martyred in a grenade attack on Askari School in Shabqadar last Friday. The IGP KP met with the bereaved family and expressed his condolence. He termed the attack on the lady teacher as an attack on our right to education; the IGP KP said that the martyred has sacrificed her life for a great cause. IGP Nasir Khan Durrani assured the family that the Perpetrators of the crime will soon be arrested. On the occasion, the IGP announced that he would request the provincial government to announce the highest civil gallantry award for the martyred lady teacher and a special compensation package for the bereaved family.
Later, the IGP KP visited the Shabqadar bazaar where he reviewed the security arrangements and also met with the locals of the area. The locals expressed their gratitude to the IGP KP for visiting the sensitive area of Shabqadar and stated that the visit of highest police command to the bordering area will definitely be a morale booster for the police personnel and will usher a renewed sense of security amongst the residents. Speaking on the occasion, the IGP praised the brave citizen and police force of KP and urged the residents to cooperate with the police force to defeat the nefarious designs of miscreants.
