The Punjab government is expediting the process of assessing the losses incurred to flood affectees to their crops, houses and cattle so as to start the process of making payment of second instalment of financial assistance to flood affectees from October 20.
Punjab Chief Minister has already announced that compensation will be paid to the affected people for the losses to their crops, houses and cattle. He said that the flood victims have faced the natural disaster with courage and now the journey of development is being started with a new commitment and determination.
Flood Relief Commissioner, Punjab Nadeem Ashraf said, "The rehabilitation process is in full swing by the government. First instalment of Rs 25,000 cash assistance has already been distributed among flood affectees in Punjab. After the completion of ongoing survey regarding assessment of damages, the second instalment will be given on 20th October." Pakistan Muslim League-N MPA Majid Zahoor said that the PML-N government under leadership of Shahbaz Sharif used its full potential to minimise the losses of recent floods in different areas of the province.
