Rotary's top priority is the global eradication of polio. To-date, Rotary has contributed more than US $1 million for polio eradication activities in Pakistan.
To enhance widespread advocacy in Pakistan on polio, Rotary International has sponsored a musical film/documentary 'Overcoming All Challenges' with Salman Ahmed - Junoon fame. Rotary's Pakistan national Polio Plus Committee and Salman have been working closely together since July of this year, to bring 'synergy' in mobilising religious leaders and diffuse misconceptions toward the polio vaccine.
Salman said: "Arts and fuel such entrepreneurship, especially in a nation such as Pakistan that can't be understood apart from its artistic heritage. Whereas politics and religion there can be divisive, the arts are unifying. I feel confident that polio will soon be history in Pakistan.
