The government functionaries and politicians of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expressing jubilance over the winning of Noble Peace Award by teenager child rights activist Malala Yousafzai. Malala is the youngest to be awarded the globally prestigious annual prize.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has congratulated teenage education campaigner Malala Yousafzai on winning the Nobel Peace Prize, calling her the "pride" of his country. "She is (the) pride of Pakistan. She has made her countrymen proud. Her achievement is unparalleled and unequalled. Girls and boys of the world should take the lead from her struggle and commitment," he said in a statement.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan in his congratulating statement said "it is equally an honour for the people of Pakistan and especially of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA". He added that the award is not only a recognition of the exemplary contribution of the daughter of this soil but also the acknowledgement of the great sacrifices of our entire nation which we have been rendering to fight international terrorism for the last more than one decade". He has also wished Malala Yousafzai success in the times to come.
Central president, ANP Asfandyar Wali Khan and general secretary, Mian Iftikhar Hussain have also expressed jubilance over the winning of Noble Peace Prize by Malala Yousafzai and congratulated her. In their felicitation message issued from Bacha Khan Markaz, the ANP leaders said that Malala Yousafzai is the pride of the nation and the winning of Noble Peace Prize by her is not only good omen for the country in general and particularly for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakhtuns nation.
They said that a daughter of Pakhtunkhwa has earned name all around the world, which is not less than any honour for them. They said that Malala bravely battled the enemies of girls' education and offered sacrifice for the restoration of peace in Swat. In reward of her great services her name will be written in golden words in the history.
