LoC, Working Boundary: 'persistent shelling pushes region towards war, nuclear threat'
Secretary General, Jamaat-i-Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that persistent Indian shelling on the LoC and the working boundary pushed the region towards a war and a nuclear threat. In a statement here on Tuesday, he said that a mere reference to the Kashmir issue by the Prime Minister in the UN annual meeting and the recent letter to the UN Secretary General won't help solve the issue.
"The need of the hour is to revive the principled Kashmir policy of the country and to unite the nation against Indian designs and derive full support from the Kashmiri leadership on this important issue," he added. The JI Secretary General said that an impression had been created at the international level that a strong BJP government would be helpful in resolving the issues of the South Asia but the Narendera Modi government had shattered all such hopes.
Liaqat Baloch strongly condemned US decision declaring Fazlur Rahman Khalili as a terrorist, and said US and its allies had carried out the genocide of the Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan in the worst example of brutality and terrorism while the US, India and Israel troika had shattered world peace. He said the US drones had killed thousands of innocent people in the country, adding "United Nations had declared drone attacks as illegal yet these attacks were still continuing because there was none to check the US hostilities."
