One person was killed while two others injured when a speedy passenger train hit a cargo train at 'Run Pathani' some 120km far from Karachi. Divisional Superintendent (DS) Nisar Memon told Business Recorder that the train service from the both ups and down sides was restored after suspension of some 5 hours.
The accident took place near Ran Pathani area of Sindh where Lahore-bound Business Express collided with a stationary freight train causing several bogies to derail, he said Resultantly, an assistant driver of cargo train, Zakir Hussain succumbed to his injuries on the spot while the driver Rafiq and a security guard of Business Express train, Nazar Faqeer, were injured. The body and injured were rushed to Thatta Civil Hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment.
