An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the early hours of Tuesday. According to the Meteorological Office, tremors were felt in Swat, Mansehra, Shangla, Batgram and adjoining areas on early Tuesday morning. The epicentre of the earthquake was in the Hindu Kush Mountains in Afghanistan at a depth of 175 kilometres. The tremors panicked the residents who immediately came out of their homes. However, there are no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
