The Corps Commander, Peshawar, Lieutenant General Hidayat-ur-Rehman called on Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak here in CM Secretariat on Tuesday. He remained with the chief minister for some and discussed different matters of mutual interest with him.
On this occasion, Lieutenant General Hidayat-ur-Rehman briefed the chief minister on national situation, particularly security situation in FATA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and matters relating to arrangements for IDPs. He appreciated the efforts of the provincial government for law and order and accommodation of IDPs. The chief minister while congratulating the new Corps Commander on assuming charge of the post appreciated the role of Pakistan Army and offering sacrifices for the nation and country.
Pervez Khattak told the Corps Commander that for maintenance of durable peace and law and order the provincial police has been strengthened while despite limited resources of the province, the provincial government is making all-out efforts for provision of all possible facilities to the IDPs from North Waziristan.
For this purpose, he said besides making the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) full activated and powerful, the concerned district and municipal administrations have also been given special tasks, while a financial assistance package has also been started under 'Esar Programme'. Lieutenant General Hidayat-ur-Rehman assured that regarding security and law and order Pakistan Army would guarantee the national expectations at any cost and will not hesitate from rendering any kind of sacrifice in this regard.
