The police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested around 42 alleged criminals in different targeted raids and encounters conducted at various parts of the metropolis during last 24 hours. Police said that their 106 raids and five encounters carried out as a part of Karachi operation led to the arrests of 42 criminals who were allegedly involved in various criminal activities.
During the operations, police arrested 14 criminals under Arms Act, eight were arrested under Narcotics Act, two dacoits, one murderer, 12 absconders/proclaimed offenders, one terrorist, and some four others involved in criminal activities were also arrested during the said time period. Police further claimed that they had recovered 17 hand guns, one hand grenade, 30 gram heroin, and 2170 gram hashish from the possession of the arrested criminals.
