KP Speaker, Jamaat-i-Islami team discuss strategy to tackle no confidence motion
A delegation of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) led by its central Ameer, Siraj-ul-Haq called on Speaker, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Asad Qaiser here in Speaker House on Wednesday. The meeting discussed in detail national and provincial political situation including the no-confidence presented by opposition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and agreed on adopting of effective strategy for the achievement of provincial rights from the central government.
The delegation was comprised of the newly inducted provincial minister for finance, Muzaffar Said advocate, Senior Minister for Local Governments Inayatullah, ameer JI FATA Haroon Rashid, members of provincial and national assemblies and other districts chiefs.
The meeting after holding threadbare discussion on the no-confidence motion filed by the opposition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly decided that as the house had always been run on the pattern of the Pakhtuns Jirga. They said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has golden tradition of patience and tolerance, where differences have always been resolved according to the traditions of Pakhtuns Jirga.
Therefore, in light of the wish of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, the Speaker presented a proposal of contacting opposition leader in shape of a Jirga. The JI delegation also agreed with the proposal and decided that a representative Jirga comprising of the coalition partners in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would be constituted.
The Jirga headed by Speaker, Asad Qaiser will discussed matters relating to the no-confidence against the chief minister with opposition parties including the Leader of Opposition. So the opposition legislators keep in view the honour and prestige of the assembly and disposed of the no-confidence motion in an amicable manner. The meeting also agreed for the constitution of a representative delegation comprising of coalition partners for waging struggle for the achieving the rights of the province to contact federal government and pave way for the resolution of the longstanding problems including net profit on hydel generation.
