Pakistan People's Party (PPP) on Friday submitted a calling attention notice to the National Assembly Secretariat over risk of Ebola virus' outbreak in Pakistan. The motion has been signed by Dr Nafisa Shah, Ms Shazia Marri, Dr Azra Fazal, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah and Ayaz Soomro.
According to the notice: "We the undersigned would like to invite the attention of the Minister of State for National Health Services, Regulations and Co-ordination to a matter of urgent public importance regarding government negligence and inability to devise a concrete policy and immediate steps to avoid the spread of the lethal and viral disease Ebola in Pakistan. As per World Health Organisation (WHO), Pakistan is on high risk of having Ebola virus disease if necessary steps are not taken on emergency basis. The situation is worrisome and demands immediate discussion on the floor of the house."
