A delegation of prominent Turkish trade group Compak met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Friday. Matters regarding co-operation in transport and solid waste management sectors were discussed in the meeting. Talking to the delegation, the Chief Minister said that relations between Pakistan and Turkey were strengthening and a number of Turkish companies were investing in Pakistan, especially in Punjab.
He said Turkey and Pakistan were bound together in strong ties of friendship, brotherhood and love. He said that a state-of-the-art Tayyip Erdogan Hospital has been set up in Muzaffargarh with the co-operation of Turkey and modern medical facilities were being provided in the hospital. He said the Lahore metro bus project was a glorious example of the Pak-Turk friendship. The Chief Minister told the delegation that maximum facilities were being extended to Turkish companies in Punjab.
The Turkish group expressed its interest in investment in the urban transport sector in Punjab. The delegation comprised Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Compak Abdulkadir Turan and others. Chairman Lahore Transport Authority and Solid Waste Management Company Khawaja Ahmad.
