A petition seeking registration of case against senior leaders of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) was filed in a session court in Multan on Saturday. The petition was filed by Advocate Malik Khalil. The plaintiff prayed to court that the PTI chairman Imran Khan, Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Secretary General Jahangir Tarin, PTI Punjab president Ejaz Chaudhry, party's southern Punjab president Noor Khan Bhaba, district president Ejaz Janjua and Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed and the event organisers are responsible for Qasim Bagh tragedy.
Advocate Malik Khalil requested the court to order registration of case against the accused. It may be mentioned here that at least seven PTI supporters were killed in a stampede on October 10 during a party rally at a stadium in Multan. At the end of the rally, Imran Khan's supporters tried to push their way out of one of the gates at Qasim Bagh Stadium. The melee quickly evolved into a stampede in which seven people were crushed to death and about 40 injured.
