Car-lifters, dacoits & robbers: police completely fail to bust gangs active in Capital
The city police have completely failed to burst active gangs of car-lifters, dacoits and robbers in the metropolis, as 16 cases of carjacking and 13 of robbery have been reported to different police stations during the last week. The 13 robberies and 15 auto-theft incidents in a week put a question mark on police performance. Due to rising cases of various kinds of crimes especially robberies and car-lifting created a sense of insecurity among the residents of the capital city.
The capital police miserably failed to rein in the rising crime rate, as criminals involved in robberies, car snatching, kidnapping and murders are still at large. According to the statistics collected by the Business Recorder, the worst-hit areas were in the limits of Margalla Police Station, followed by Industrial Area police station and Aabpar police station during the last week.
During the last week, Industrial Area police station registered three cases of car-lifting, Margalla police station registered one case of auto-theft and three cases of robbery, whereas Aabpara police station registered two cases each of robbery and auto-theft.
During the same period, Secretariat police registered one case of robbery and two cases of auto-theft, Golra police registered one case of robbery and two cases of car-lifting and Koral police station registered two causes of auto-theft. Ternol police station registered two cases of carjacking, Shehzad Town, Kohsar and Sabzi Mandi police stations registered one case each of robbery and auto-theft during the last week.
